Chief Executive Officer
Chris joined Newable in January 2016. As CEO Chris leads the Executive Team. He is responsible for setting and delivering Newable’s ambitious growth agenda and business transformation.
Chris is a Chartered Accountant having qualified at PwC. Chris was awarded an EY Entrepreneur of the Year award for London in 2005.
He Chris has started, scales and sold three businesses. His most profitable venture was the interactive shopping channel company ‘sit-up Ltd’, was sold to Virgin Media for £194 million. His previous roles also include directing Commercial Operations for Chelsea Football Club and working for Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Really Useful Group.
Chief Financial Officer
Mike joined Newable in January 2010. As Chief Financial Officer, he provides strategic financial support for all of our key business activities including acquisition. He also leads our early-stage investment business, Newable Private Investing.
Mike has worked for some 30 years in the financial services sector and qualifying initially as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse Coopers.
He has worked mainly in the asset management sector with Invesco /LGT as Group Financial Controller and has held senior CFO and COO positions at Credit Suisse Asset Management’s UK business, Deutsche Asset Management Europe and Barclays Global Investors European and Asia ex Japan businesses. Most recently, Mike was Global Chief Operating Officer at Apax Partners, the major private equity group.
Monica joined Newable in January 2014. As HR Director and member of the Executive Team, Monica provides strategic HR services and support to each of Newable’s businesses. She has lead programmes developing Newable’s values-based culture and policies promoting inclusion, diversity and professional development of our workforce.
Monica is a qualified MCIPD HR professional with expertise in delivering effective HR services and driving organisational change.
She has over 20 years’ experience holding senior HR positions within the commercial, financial and not for profit sectors including at Bloodwise, British Board of Film Classification, The Food and Drink Federation and Pitney Bowes Finance PLC.
Marketing & Communications Director
Nick joined Newable in October 2016. As Marketing and Communications Director and member of the Executive Team, Nick is responsible for brand strategy and development. He also leads the charge supporting the interests of Newable’s client base of companies working at the heart of the economy through political and policy engagement.
Nick holds an M Phil from St. John’s College, Oxford and a BA (Hons) from the University of Kent at Canterbury.
Nick was Managing Director of McCann Erickson for five years and held senior management positions at Collett, Dickenson & Pearce, Bates Dorland. He launched and ran My Agency, a creative agency working across global, international and domestic assignments for ten years. Nick was also Commercial Director Oxford United Football Club.
Joanne joined Newable in 2000 as Management Account. As Finance Director, she is a members of the Leadership Team, working alongside business unit heads and the Chief Financial Officer to provide finance-led perspective, contribution and challenge on new business opportunities, improving the effectiveness and returns from established activities, and on future business strategy.
Joanne qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant.
Head of Corporate Development
Azim joined Newable in September 2016. As Head of Corporate Development he is a member of Newable’s Leadership and has a focus on M&A activities.
He obtained his ACA at Deloitte and is a CFA charter holder.
He has significant corporate development experience having worked on numerous M&A projects across a range of sectors including energy and consumer products. He joined from the Centrica Energy M&A team.
Steve joined Newable in November 2018 following the acquisition of Citibase. He is a member of Newable’s Leadership Team. As CEO of Citibase, Steve is responsible for delivering the growth plans for the business.
Steve was previously Group Sales & Marketing Director of Regus plc 1999-2002, during which time the business’s global revenues doubled and the company launched a successful IPO in London. He was also a Non-Executive Director of MWB Business Exchange plc, where he was chairman of the Audit Committee. Steve has also been Board Director of SIRVA UK (a subsidiary of Clayton Dubilier and Rice) which owned Pickfords.
Chief Information Officer
Mashudul joined Newable in 2005 and is a member of the Leadership Team. He provides strategic leadership, advice and support on information technology in including risk and security matters. He supports the business operations through the development of digital services and solutions. Newable Digital also provides services to outside clients.
Mash worked previously for University College London at the Royal Free Hospital and for Astron Group, Europe’s leading provider of business process outsourcing solutions, which is now part of RR Donnelley.
Managing Director, Advisory Services
Ketevan Moseshvili joined Newable in 2005 and is Managing Director of Newable’s Advisory services. Her remit includes working with key partners such as the Department for International Trade (delivering export advice for many thousands of companies in London and the South East), Innovate UK, Enterprise Europe Network and the GLA. Ketty also leads Newable’s Social Impact team.
A trained chemical engineer, Ketty is fluent in four languages.
Her commercial experience includes establishing and running large successful FMCG sales teams in Europe.
Managing Director, Lending
Phil joined Newable in January 2017. As Managing Director of Newable Lending, Phil is a member of Newable’s Leadership Team. He is responsible for building and growing the Group’s debt businesses across lending and property and commercial financing.
He has worked previously at Travelex, Barclays and L.E.K. Consulting.
Managing Director, Property
Chris joined Newable in 1997. He is Managing Director of Newable Properties and a member of Newable’s Leadership Team. Chris is responsible for the Group’s property strategy including its development programme and investment portfolio. ha
Chris has a strong background in commercial property development, property asset management and regeneration, and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
He has worked in both private and public sector organisations, including Eagle Star Properties.
Guy was appointed to Newable’s appointed as a local authority non-executive Director in November 2009 becoming Chair in April 2012.
Guy has 20 years’ experience as a Councillor in the London Borough of Hackney where he is the cabinet member for urban, economic and cultural Regeneration; prior to this he worked in the UK Theatre industry for over 15 years.
Guy also has extensive experience as a non-executive Director in the commercial, public and third sectors in the fields of economic development, urban regeneration, public policy and the Arts. Guy has worked on a broad range of regeneration and socio-economic initiatives across Hackney, the Thames Gateway, the City Fringe and the London Stansted growth corridors and of course, the London 2012 project and its Legacy. He also has a number of other roles which include being the lead member for the European Social Fund programme in London, a board member of the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation and a regional Council member for the Arts Council London.
Senior Independent Director
Peter joined Newable in 2012, and is now the Senior Independent Director. Peter chairs the Audit and Nomination Committees, and is a member of the Remuneration Committee.
He is a former senior Civil Servant with 35 years’ experience of advising Ministers and leading major government organisations.
Peter has worked for the Departments of Industry, Trade, Prices and Consumer Protection and for the National Enterprise Board. He was a Director of DVLA, the Highways Agency, the Department of Transport and the Employment Service, before becoming Chief Executive of Land Registry. Peter has been a Non-Executive Director of Swansea Bay Futures, a Member of the Governing Council of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and since 2013 has served in a number of non-executive board roles with the NHS.
Non Executive Director
Jack joined the Newable Board in December 2015.
Jack worked in local government partnerships for a number of years prior to this and brings together a number of different sectors for greater impact for business and communities.
As a local councillor and Cabinet Member, Jack has overseen some huge regeneration projects in Waterloo and Vauxhall as well as London’s best planning department for both small and large development. In 2019, Jack was elected Leader of Lambeth Council.
Non Executive Director
Angus joined the Newable Board in January 2018. He also sits on Newable’s Remuneration and Audit Committees. He is also a NED of Newable’s Lending and Equities Board.
Angus has close to 40 years’ experience in international banking in the UK and overseas, holding senior positions at Fortis Bank and Danske Bank. Angus is an experienced non-executive director, including active participation in board committees such as Audit, Risk, and Remuneration and is a past Master of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers.
Non Executive Director
Joe joined the Newable Group Board in July 2018.
Joe has extensive experience of public affairs, Whitehall, and public service reform. His roles include Director General, Dept. for Communities & Local Govt and Director General, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. He was Chief Executive of the Urban land Institute, Director for Regeneration, London Borough of Lewisham and Chief Executive, Deptford City Challenge Ltd.
He is an experienced non-executive director with a breadth of governance expertise currently serving as Chairman, RE Ltd, Civil Service Commissioner, Assessor, Grenfell Tower Inquiry and Director, Red Door Ventures Ltd. Joe became a Companion of the Order of the Bath in 2008.
Non Executive Director
Vanessa was appointed to the Newable Board in January 2018. As a non-executive director of the board, member of the Audit Review committee , chair of the Risk committee and member of the Advisory Business Board Vanessa provides governance oversight of the group and of the risk function and advisory business in particular.
Vanessa is a qualified Solicitor with expertise in advising on practical solutions to risk and governance issues.
She has over 30 years’ experience in private practice and in industry and was, for many years, the General Counsel for KPMG in the UK and Europe. She currently has a number of non executive and advisory roles for private and public organisations.
Non Executive Director
Anne was appointed in July 2000. She sits on the main Board , the Nominations Committee and Chairs the Remuneration Committee. She is also a non-executive director of the Citibase subsidiary.
Anne is a Chartered FCIPD.
Anne has been a leading figure in Inclusion and governance spanning commercial, public and voluntary sectors She has held executive roles for HSBC and Business in the Community and was Chair of the Appointments Commission. Latterly she carried out independent reviews of Government departments and the Army. She has also held other national public appointments. She is currently Deputy Chair of University of Surrey chairing Remuneration Committee and the new Vet School. She continues to play an independent advisory role for a wide range of organisations including both the Gender and Race Leadership Teams at Business in the Community .
Her extensive career in equality and diversity spans the private, voluntary and public sectors. Anne has just completed an eight year term for the Open University Council as Chair of their Membership Committee.
She is presently working on the development of the Commission on Equality and Human Rights and supporting Sir Nigel Crisp at the NHS on his Independent Panel on Race.
